The Ireland Government Scholarships for international students 2023-2024 is now open to students from abroad to take advantage of the chance to attend for no cost in Ireland Universities.

The government of Ireland offers full scholarships for international students i.e. masters scholarships, graduate scholarships, and doctoral degree programs scholarships at their Irish Universities for all students from abroad each year.

  • to pursue a degree to study in Ireland for the duration of one year

  • to enhance the strategies of internationalization for HEIs particularly within the framework of performance for the system.

How can I apply to be considered for an Ireland Government Scholarships for international students 2024-2025?

The applicants will be required to apply for admission to a suitable Master, Bachelor, or Ph.D. program that is offered by an qualified Higher Education Institution (see Appendix 1) in accordance with the admissions procedures of the HEI. Candidates are required to present an offer of conditional or final for admission into the HEI when they submit their applying and must submit an original copy of that offer. If an applicant is receiving multiple offers an application may be submitted for each offer. Final offers are subject to acceptance by the appropriate HEI. Candidates must make enquiries directly to the institution in question prior to submitting their application with the HEA.

It is the Ireland government Scholarship scheme is managed by the Higher Education Authority (HEA) which is a part of the Department of Education and Skills. After a process of competition based on an annual call for proposal from applicants who are not individuals and the HEA will award a predetermined number of scholarships in the scheme to applicants who are successful.

Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships will be granted to students of high-caliber who are from non-EU/EEA nations to pursue full-time studies in Ireland for one year. These are the conditions and terms which will be in effect:

The HEA will provide a scholarship an individual student (through the HEI which the student studying at) in the amount of EUR10,000 for one academic year. The fund is aimed at the cost of living and student expenses. The award could go towards:

  • The last semester of an undergraduate degree;
  • An academic year within a master’s program or
  • An entire year in a research-based program (i.e. two years of research masters or a 3-year Ph.D. degree).
  • The stipend for the scholarship will be given to the host higher learning establishment (HEI) for the student who is successful and then forwarded by the HEI to the student in two installments of EUR5,000.
  • The HEI must provide a full cost waiver to students during the year of scholarship (i.e. tuition and registration fees are exempted). The minimum match requirements for funding that institutions must meet. be required to meet.

  • It is anticipated that 60 scholarship awards will be provided through the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships for the academic year 2022/2023.
  • The applicant must be a citizen of origin1 that isn’t equal to either the European Union/EEA, or Switzerland
  • The scholarship may be granted for studies across all subjects, provided availability of spaces.
  • Due to the large quantity of Ireland Scholarship applications, it will be impossible to provide feedback to unsuccessful applicants.

Dates for opening and closing of Ireland Government Scholarships for international students 2023-2024

It is now time to apply for the Call for Applications is now open for applications. The central applications system is now online and will soon be accepting applications.

    • The deadline for submission for Ireland Government Scholarship applications is 5pm on February 28 2024 (Irish time). Applications received after this date are not accepted.
    • Any queries regarding the call for application should be directed to
      goi-ies@hea.ie by February 28th 2024. All answers to questions will be published on the www.EurIreland.ie website. For telephone inquiries, there is no option.
    • The HEA will inform applicants as well as the HEIs on the outcome of the assessment process by February 28, 2024.
